10. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO THE FESTSTELLUNGSPRÜFUNG (assessment test) 10.1 Do you wish to apply for admission in the coming semester to a studienkolleg (preparatory/foundation course) for foreign students to prepare for the Feststellungsprüfung ?
Yes No
Criteria:
* German Proficiency - Zertifikat Deutsch or equivalent
* Intermediate Level from TU, +2 HSEB or equivalent
Who needs to attend Studienkolleg? Basically, foreign higher secondary education(eg PCL, 10+2 or equivalent from Nepal) is not recognized as equivalent to german higher secondary education (Abitur). Abitur ends up with 13 years of Schooling, unlike ISc or 10+2 which takes 12 years of Schooling. Therefore, one, with such qualification, needs to attend one year of bridge course, offered by Studienkolleg.
In contrary to this, first year of University degree (B.Com. 1st Year or equivalent) is equally recognized as the german Abitur. In this case you only need to have good german command (DSH or TestDaf) in order to apply to a University. But remember your subject of bachelors degree must be similar to the subject that you want to study here. eg. With a bachelor in natural science you cannot apply for Business administration and vice versa.
Apply through UNI-ASSIST UNI-ASSIST is the address for foreign applicants, applying to its member universities. It collects your application, examines and forwards them to universities for final confirmation. Please read the information provided on the webpage of UNI-ASSIST thoroughly.
Check if your chosen universities are member of UNI-ASSIST, read the FAQ thoroughly.
Apply directly If the university is not a member of UNI-ASSIST, you have to apply directly either to the university or to the Studienkolleg. You must notice that not every university has a Studienkolleg. There are few of them in every federal state. So, first thing, you have to figure out, is, which Studienkolleg is responsible for a particular university for a particular course (like M-, T-, G-, S-, W-Course).
